Over the past few years we have seen the resolution in televisions move from 1080p to 4k. This has benefited modern games in a huge way but has done the opposite for retro games, making them look blury and dull.

This has resulted in many retro gamers moving from original hardware and onto newer retro remakes such as the Super Retro Trio, SNES Classic etc. These remade consoles are great for casual gamers but they do not satisfy hardcore enthusiasts due to input lag, sound and other issues.
