The sudden & unexpected passing of Archer Maclean recently has left the retro gaming community in shock, as a majority of retro gamers grew up playing the exceptional games that Archer Maclean produced on the Atari, Commodore 64, Amiga & Atari ST.

For the minority who have never pleyed or heard of him, who is Archer Maclean?

Archer Maclean was a British video game designer and programmer who has had a long and influential career in the gaming industry. He is best known for his work on the classic puzzle game "Dropzone," which was released in the 1980s, and his more recent series of pool and snooker games, including "World Championship Snooker" and "Pure Pool."

Maclean began his career in the gaming industry in the 1980s, working as a programmer and designer for various companies. One of his earliest and most memorable games was "Dropzone," a fast-paced shooter game that was released for the Atari in 1984. The game was praised for its challenging gameplay and innovative use of 3D graphics, and it became a popular title among gamers of the time.
